In contrast to the Asylum seeker and boat people issue, the issue of Global Warming and Climate Change is seen as more of an issue in the South-Eastern corner of Australia, particularly in NSW and Victoria, and in more inner-city electorates in these States.
Several ALP marginal electorates regard the issue as important including Grayndler (NSW) – 25.1%, Deakin (VIC) – 20.3%, Kingsford-Smith (NSW) – 19.7%, Lilley (QLD) – 16.0%, Fremantle (WA) – 15.0%, Eden-Monaro (NSW) – 14.9%, Perth (WA) – 13.3% and Reid (NSW) – 13.1%.
L-NP marginal electorates that regard the issue as important include Higgins (VIC) – 20.7%, Brisbane (QLD) – 19.6%, Bennelong (NSW) – 17.2%, Goldstein (VIC) – 15.7%, Boothby (SA) – 15.2%, Sturt (SA) – 15.2%, Stirling (WA) – 14.0%, Gilmore (NSW) – 13.9% and Wannon (VIC) – 13.4%.
