'Texas' Bombs Down Under
At the Australian Junior Chamber of Commerce National Convention in Melbourne on Friday, October 17, 44 young business leaders viewed leading political commentator Laurie Oakes' interview with President George W. Bush with a healthy degree of cynicism.
The delegates' responses were measured with The Worm , which tracks how positively or negatively each respondent feels about what they're seeing and hearing, second by second. Developed by Roy Morgan Research, The Worm is such a powerful analytical research tool, it has been accused of influencing the course of elections of several countries When President Bush praised the efforts of Aussies, saying “the Australian military performed brilliantly”, he obviously hit a positive chord in the psyche of the young business leaders. However , The Worm dived when President Bush stated that he hadn't been to Australia but 'they tell me it's a lot like Texas'.
