Scott Morrison wins surprise Federal Election

By Gary Morgan, Michele Levine and Julian McCrann. Saturday’s Federal Election results shows the L-NP Government will likely be returned with a small majority. Analysis of the polls show all polls significantly underestimated the L-NP primary vote. The Roy Morgan Poll a week before the Federal Election had L-NP support at 38.5% – 2.9% lower than their actual vote of 41.4%.

Finding No. 7892 - This Morgan Poll on Indonesian Presidential and Parliamentary voting intention was conducted in January 2019 with an Indonesian-wide cross-section of 1,039 electors aged 17+ and in December 2018 with an Indonesian-wide cross-section of 1,045 electors aged 17+. Face-to-face interviews were conducted in 17 provinces, with effort made to ensure a balanced sample representing the electorate both geographically and demographically. Less than 1% of electors in both polls couldn’t say who they support.

Finding No. 7893 – These two Morgan Polls on Roy Morgan Government Confidence were conducted via face-to-face interviewing during the month of February. Roy Morgan interviewed 1,673 Australian electors aged 18+ on the weekends of February 2/3 & 9/10, 2019 (pre Medevac Bill) and 1,708 Australian electors aged 18+ on the weekends of February 16/17 & 23/24, 2019 (post Medevac Bill).

Of electors surveyed on August 18/19, 2018 5% did not name a party and of electors surveyed on August 25/26, 2018 6% did not name a party.
