The latest data from Roy Morgan shows Australian smoking rates have increased since the ‘vaping sales ban’ was introduced in mid-2024 – especially Factory-Made Cigarettes (FMCs); and driven primarily by increased smoking rates for 18-24yr olds.

Roy Morgan’s New Zealand Poll for June 2025 shows the National-led Government (National, ACT & NZ First) on 51.5% (up 1.5% points) and the Labour-Greens-Maori Party Parliamentary Opposition virtually unchanged on 44.5% (down 0.5% points) – the largest lead for the National-led Government for nine months since September 2024.

ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence increased 0.5pts to 87.2 this week and is now at its highest since mid-May. Consumer Confidence is 5.9 points above the same week a year ago, June 24-30, 2024 (81.3) and just above the 2025 weekly average of 86.5.

Roy Morgan’s latest data shows 48% of Australians now support marijuana legalisation, up 15 percentage points over the past decade (from 33% in 2015 and 42% in 2019). Opposition has fallen to 41%, also down 15 points since 2015 (from 56% and 49% in 2019), while 11% remain undecided. The latest figures reflect a decisive shift in national sentiment towards legalisation.
